The week of October 20, 75-year-old former Alabama Trooper and Vietnam War hero James Bonard Fowler faces trial for the shooting of “civil rights” rioter Jimmie Lee Jackson in February, 1965. In May, 2007, Perry County District Attorney Michael Jackson attained an indictment from a reportedly all Black Grand Jury.
Of course, many are sceptical if Trooper Fowler can recieve a fair trial in about 70% Black Perry County. A change of trial venue is pending interviews with the jury pool.
